Common questions
A product has no score
Scrutina only scores a product when the label data it needs is there. When something is missing, the page says what. Tap “Complete it on Open Food Facts” to add it there; it helps everyone who scans the product after you.
A product isn’t found
Check the barcode was read correctly, or type it. If the product isn’t in Open Food Facts yet, you can add it from the same screen, or log it from its nutrition label with Scan, then Label.
The sign-in email hasn’t arrived
Wait a minute and check spam or promotions. The email comes from Scrutina at no-reply@mail.scrutina.app. Each code works once and expires after an hour; ask for a new one from the sign-in screen if it has.
My data isn’t on my new phone
Sign in with the same method and email on both phones, then open Settings, Account & sync and tap Sync now. Data you entered without being signed in stays on the old phone.
How do I export my diary?
Settings, Export diary as CSV. You get files you can open in any spreadsheet.
Apple Health or Health Connect isn’t updating
Check the switches in Scrutina’s Settings, then allow Scrutina in the Health app (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android). Only what you log after turning sending on is copied.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every feature is free and there are no ads. You can leave an optional tip from Settings, Support Scrutina; it unlocks nothing.
How is the score worked out?
Nutrition counts for up to 60 points, additives up to 25 and processing up to 15. One high-concern additive caps the total at 49. In the app, Settings, How Scrutina scores, explains each part.
